Health Insurance Industry Expert, Researcher, & Author

Kev Coleman is a leading expert on American health insurance. Author of “Association Health Plans & The Future of American Health Insurance,” Mr. Coleman has performed research on association health plans, Medicare insurance, Affordable Care Act plans, and Medicaid. Mr. Coleman was also the conceptual architect of the first private Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage online health insurance exchange (Experion Systems). His interface design innovations at Experion Systems for informed decision-making were influenced by the customer advocacy theory of Dr. Glen Urban from M.I.T. This online exchange was influential in the marketplace and was also approvingly noted in the work “Nudge: Improving Decision about Health, Wealth, and Happiness” by Richard H. Thaler and Cass R. Sunstein.

One of Mr. Coleman’s advantages as a researcher is his direct experience in the design of online healthcare technology. As someone who was responsible for consumer requirements research and specification, project management, and usability studies, Mr. Coleman brings a unique perspective to questions of new technology and market adoption.
